Event schedule
5:00 PM – 5:10 PM | Welcome and Introduction
A brief introductory presentation outlining the event’s theme and goals.
5:10 PM – 5:35 PM | Lecture: Ethics in a Pharmaceutical Company from a Physician's Perspective
This lecture will focus on the ethical aspects of the collaboration between the pharmaceutical industry and the medical community.
- Discussion on the importance and role of ethics in these relationships, emphasizing the need to build trust, ensure transparency, and avoid conflicts of interest.
- Presentation of best practices and ethical collaboration standards.
- Discussion of the consequences of ethical breaches, including their impact on reputation, possible sanctions, and long-term effects.
- Introduction to management methods and ways to prevent ethical violations in the industry.
Speaker: Robert Dewor
Medical Director at AstraZeneca Poland. A specialist with extensive experience at both local and international levels (Europe and emerging markets), with deep knowledge across various therapeutic areas in the pharmaceutical industry.
5:35 PM – 6:40 PM | Panel Discussion: Ethics in Clinical Trials
A discussion panel on the key role of ethical practices in clinical research:
- The process of registering clinical data, including issues related to safety, confidentiality, and data integrity.
- Ethical aspects of recruiting patients for clinical trials.
- Adhering to ethical standards during the course of the studies.
- Sharing research results with stakeholders such as other research teams, regulators, and the scientific community.
Speaker I: Alina Pszczółkowska
Alina Pszczółkowska is a physician, a graduate of the Medical University of Warsaw and the Polish Open University, and Oxford Brookes University, where she earned an MBA. She has been involved in clinical research since 1997. Alina joined AstraZeneca in 1999, working in both Poland and abroad in R&D, overseeing portfolios in several therapeutic areas, and managing projects and divisions worldwide. She also serves as the Vice President of AstraZeneca in Poland.
Speaker II: Paul Finnemore
Paul Finnemore is a veterinarian with extensive experience in biomedical ethics and compliance. He began his career as an expert in the ethical use of animals in academic research, including working as an inspector for the UK government. In 2013, he joined AstraZeneca as Chief Veterinarian, later leading the bioethics advisory group within the company. He now heads the non-commercial compliance team as Senior Director of Ethics & Compliance.
Speaker III: Dr. Paweł Kowalski
Doctor of Law, active legal counsel since 2014, specializing in medical law, European Union law, international law, and new technology law. His academic interests include Poland's collaboration with the EU, human rights protection, ethics, and liability for medical errors. His scientific works include publications on medical law and human rights. He frequently references GPT-4 technology, highlighting its potential in the legal field.
6:40 PM – 6:50 PM | Prize Competition
A competition related to the conference’s theme, offering the winner a chance to receive an attractive prize.
6:50 PM – 7:00 PM | Summary and Closing Remarks

Event Moderator: Justyna Uman-Ntuk
Justyna Uman-Ntuk is a graduate of the Medical University of Warsaw with a degree in Pharmacy and holds a postgraduate degree in e-marketing. She is the author of numerous articles on medical marketing, a TEDx speaker, and a lecturer in the "Strategic Marketing in the Pharmaceutical Market" postgraduate program at the University of Economics in Poznań.
